How ya’ll doin’?
My name is Allison Parsons. I am currently chasing those vivid ambitions I have had since youth. After completing my BA in World History, I have made travel and writing my life. You can easily find me writing in my rugged notebook on the back pew of some abandoned church or meandering around a cemetery. But lets get to the bulk of it shall we?
I am a historian interested in sharing my love of obscure history with you, my readers, as well as students whom I tutor in my spare time. It is within this amalgamation of history and the written word that I found my niche in the macabre, the obscure, the dark, and the misunderstood. Growing up in the haunted foothills of North Carolina, my world is surrounded by the woods and their secrets, the history of the lost, the soils that hold horrific truths needing to find the daylight.
Another great passion of mine is piracy. Being North Carolinian, Blackbeard is often a subject of my research. However, I have a few projects I am working on in my spare time that dive deeper into the broad history that is piracy. Projects which, I hope, will become my Master’s thesis and eventually be the foundation for my Doctorate.
Within my writings and amusing rants that I will post here (as often as I am able) you will often find quotes, movie references, and the odd jab at humor. Be it so, I am no stranger to digging into the salted wound of indecent topics for public consumption. Let this be your warning that I will dive into topics not fit for the bigoted, dimwitted, and generally closed minded. This blog is a safe space for the diverse spectrums that make this world sacred.
So come on in, sit a spell. Many wonderful, historical, and spooky things await.
A.P.
